Classic You Can Taste New York City Waldorf Salad
2/3 cup dried tart cherries
1 cup boiling water
1/2 cup mayonnaise
3 tablespoons sour cream
2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
1 teaspoon sugar
4 Granny Smith apples, cored, cut into cubes
1 cup celery, diced
1 cups red seedless grapes, halved
Salt and black pepper to taste
12 Romaine lettuce leaves
1/2 cup Pecans
Soak cherries in boiling water until softened, about 10 minutes. Drain. Whisk
together mayonnaise sour cream, lemon juice and sugar. Combine apples, celery,
grapes and cherries. Add mayonnaise dressing and toss to coat. Season with salt
and pepper. Arrange lettuce on plates. Spoon salad over lettuce. Top salad with
pecans. Serves 6.
